Fetching for fresh and profound experiences is very exciting to me, especially since I do it in Washington DC, the world’s political capital. I was born and raised in Babylon, Iraq. During sanctions, Grew then witnessed civil war that erupted after the U.S. invasion of Iraq. Therefore, DC played a significant role in my life. I always wanted to live in this city, hoping to discover how things being done here. Although RideSharing doesn’t give insight into how things happen in the capital corridors, it’s eye-opening to talk to those who work with or live around decision-makers.
When I migrated to the United States, I found that the reality was different from what I learned through the media. I worked in many jobs before I found the one job I loved that keeps me on the front line of interacting with new people freely and learning about life. I will try to share the perspectives I derive from my everyday experiences dealing with people I never thought I would meet. ABZU in Mesopotamian mythology is the deity of Deep Fresh Water that encircled the earth. Legend has it by merging his sweet water with the saltwater God Tiamat they created all life.
